Cozy Toes: Learn to Knit Top-Down Socks
Put that gorgeous sock yarn to use, and learn to knit top-down socks! Knit socks from the cuff down using magic loop or double-pointed needles (dpns), and learn the basics of top-down sock construction from the cuff, the heel, to the toe. You will learn how to do a traditional heel flap and gusset, or the short-row method of heel construction.
Participants should be adventurous beginners and beyond who are comfortable knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, and binding-off.
-1 skein of sock yarn (fingering-weight)
-1 set of dpns or 40” circular needle in US size 1 or 2
-tapestry or darning needle.
Class fee is $75 for three 90-minute sessions. Yarn for the project must be purchased at Yarnia; come in before your first class for help in selecting appropriate materials and get a 10% discount on yarn purchased for use in the class. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of class.
