Knitting Socks: My First Socks
Want to try your hand (or foot!) at making socks? This class will guide you through a simple sock, from the cuff, to the heel, to the toe. Our instructor will guide you through turning the heel, and discuss other methods of sock heels so you’re ready for future projects. Socks will be worked with either a DK- or worsted-weight yarn, making perfect boot socks, sleep socks, or just the coziest pair you’ve ever worn!
Participants should know how to cast on, knit, and purl.
- Worsted-weight yarn. A wool/nylon blend is ideal – see our recommendations in store.
- US 4 and US 7 double-pointed knitting needles
Class fee is $75 for three 90-minute sessions. Yarn for the project must be purchased at Yarnia; come in before your first class for help in selecting appropriate materials and get a 10% discount on yarn purchased for use in the class. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of each class. Class instructor: Susan Leibowitz
