Crochet this versatile transitional cowl worked in the round in reversible double layer crochet.  At first the technique seems challenging, but after the first few rounds it all makes sense and is fun and engaging! Learn from either written directions or charts. Put your personal touch on it with your yarn choice.  Go for high contrast with two solids or a solid and a variegated.  (For your first go, choose lighter colors, as it’s too hard to see the stitches with deep, dark colors.)

This workshop is for experienced beginners who are comfortable with single and double crochet, and can chain and work double crochet independently.

  • 1 skein each of two contrasting colors of worsted-to-aran weight yarn, such as Ella Rae Rustic Aran.
  • US L/8 mm hook or hook size suggested for yarn. It can be helpful to have hooks larger and smaller on hand if you need to your adjust gauge/drape.
  • Usual kit of crochet tools, including scissors, yarn needle, and a pencil or pen.
Workshop fee is $50 for one 2 1/2 hour session. Yarn for the project must be purchased at Yarnia; come in before your first class for help in selecting appropriate materials and get a 10% discount on yarn purchased for use in the class. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of each class.
